There are many French institutions including the Centre Cultural Franco-Manitobain, the St Boniface Cathedral, a the College universitaire de Saint-Boniface, and Le Cercle Molier, to the east of the community are Winnipeg’s major industrial areas, including the Refinery and the Stockyards. Downtown View

Most of Central St Boniface was built at the turn of the century, with some buildings in Old St Boniface earlier than that. The old commercial district along Provencher has recently received a facelift as a result of a CORE Area Initiative project. The Norwood area is a nice residential area with well-maintained homes on tree-lined streets, and the riverside Lyndale Drive (along the River) is popular with runners and cyclists.

Schools

This area’s schools are administered by the St Boniface School District #4 which has 6 elementary and 2 high schools in the community. There is also a Catholic elementary and high school, and the King George private school. The community is also home to the francophone Universitaire de St-Boniface, and is not far from the downtown campus of the University of Winnipeg.
