This 5,000 population town is named for its first settler, Alvey Morden.
The town grew overnight when the Canadian Pacific Railway arrived in 1882. The town is located on the
historic Boundary Commission Trail. The town's recreational facilities include Lake Minnewasta and Colert Beach,
created by the damming of Dead Horse Creek. The town has a brass statue by renowned artist L, and
two historical murals painted by local artists

This 254 hectare research station develops new field crops, fruits and ornamental plants. The research station celebrates spring blossoms with Blossom Week, and offers tours from May through September.

Fossils and displays review geological and regional history, showing marine reptiles that date back 80 million years, when the Colorado Sea covered much of North America. Exhibits show process of finding, uncovering, and excavating the fossils. Another exhibit deals with Indian and pioneer life. Open daily 1 pm to 5 pm from June through August. Open 1 pm to 5 pm on weekends and holidays the remainder of the year (Closed Dec 25) Admission $2, ages 6-17 $1.
Twin Oak Doll Museum

This museum houses 800 dolls, 1800 collectible bottles, old wrenches and tools, an old log cabin and arm-built machinery. Open July to September Friday & Saturday 1 pm to 8 pm and Monday to Thursday by appointment. In may & June Monday to Thursday by appointment. Admission charge.
